Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a medical treatment used to supplement the body with hormones that are no longer being produced or are produced in insufficient amounts.   • Estradiol is a type of estrogen hormone that is used in HRT to replace the declining levels of estrogen in women after menopause as the ovaries stop producing it.

    It comes in various forms of application methods including pills, patches, creams, gels, or pellets which can help with hot flashes, night sweats.

  • Testosterone levels naturally decline in women as they age. HRT may include testosterone supplementation for women experiencing symptoms such as: Low libido, Low Muscle Mass, Fatigue, and Decreased Bone Density.

    This can be prescribed as intramuscular injections, topical creams or pellets.

  • Progesterone is an important component of HRT for women who still have their uterus.It protects the uterus from the increased risk of cancer associated with estrogen-only therapy and provides additional benefits such as hot flash relief and improved mood. It may also help with sleep, and cognitive and mental health. It can be prescribed in oral form as Micronized progesterone tablets, via Progesterone gel applied to the skin, or as Progesterone pessary inserted vaginally.

    An alternative is Progestin HRT which is a type of hormone therapy that uses synthetic versions such as IUD or birth control pills.
